Regardless of how you approach post-production one thing is definite, you must plan ahead. The world inside an editing suite can be extremely confusing for the novice so be prepared and willing to ask a lot of questions and do a lot of research. Even if you are going to cut your opus on your iBook in your parents basement you will, at some point, need to deal with a post-production house or a post professional if you want your film to be seen by the masses. This article from MovieMaker Magazine list ten rules to get you through the post process without losing your shirt or your hair, which ever comes first.

My Sentiments Exactly

“I would hate that to be the main question about the movie, though I sense that is what’s going to happen… I’m not in the business of knowing whether America is ready. You just hope it will be… I’m not the only director who has had to deal with rejection, failure and defeat… But either you get a gun, load it and shoot yourself in the head, or you carry on doing what you love.”

What would a New Yorker want with the Wisconsin Screenwriter’s Forum? Well, probably the same thing you will want. I came across this great offer. With a $25 membership fee you get access to the Hollywood Creative Directory, Daily Variety Online and IMDb Pro. Collectively would cost over $500. Give it a look…

Repeat in Shatner speak…Must..Finish..Screenplay.

Update: Looks like the screenplay is going to come in at around a tight 118 pages if my estimations are correct. Hey, I’ll take it either way.

I was waiting until our man in the field, Mike over at HD4ND’s, was all over this item. As expected, he was. There’s been a buzz about this insanely dynamic camera that is being developed by Jim Jannard, the founder of Oakley sunglasses. It’s called the Red Digital Cinema Camera. The specs are out of reach but in this interview Jannard says it’s happening. Give it a read.
